"Managing Your Managers:
  Teaching New Leaders the HR Basics"

New managers are often promoted because they excel at their jobs - but managing people requires an entirely different skill set.

This practical and engaging session is designed to help HR professionals better prepare frontline managers to navigate employee relations issues and basic HR responsibilities with confidence and consistency.

Attendees will explore the most common manager mistakes that create legal and organizational risk, including poor documentation, mishandled complaints, inconsistent discipline, leave and accommodation missteps, and difficult workplace conversations.

Participant Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize the most common manager mistakes that create legal and cultural risk

  • Train managers to respond appropriately to workplace concerns

  • Improve consistency, documentation, and communication practices

  • Equip managers to partner effectively with HR

  • Build manager confidence while reducing organizational risk

With over 7 years in human resource experience prior to law school - having ultimately worked as Director of Human Resources for a multi-state private employer - Michelle brings a unique perspective in solving the specialized needs of her clients. 

Ms. White’s practice focuses on assisting employers through all aspects of the employment relationship including accommodations, leaves of absence, legal compliance, workplace investigations, hiring and termination, compensation, auditing personnel policies, and defending employers against legal claims.
