"Aim Before You Fire-The Do’s and Don’ts of Making a Discipline Stick"
Program 1 - MC-SHRM Members Only Special Topic (MOST) 10:15*AM-11:35AM (*Registration 10:15AM-10:25AM)
Presented by: Joseph G. (Chip) Galagaza, & Kelly S. Sullivan - Senior Counsel, Stibbs & Co., P.C.
More often than not, what gets employers in trouble after they’ve disciplined or discharged an employee is not a bad intent, but rather, leaving the door cracked that there might have been an illegal motivation behind the decision because the process wasn’t done right.
This presentation will examine the do’s and don’ts of how to effectuate a disciplinary or discharge decision that minimizes the possibility of creating a legal claim.
