"Alternative Dispute Resolution: Everything You Want/Need to Know But Were Afraid to Ask"

Given the cost (both the cost of defense and the cost of employee downtime) and the uncertainty of litigation, understanding the various methods available to resolve employment disputes is critical to preserving the bottom line of your organization.

This presentation will walk you through the various forms of dispute resolution available and how they might benefit your company when confronted with an employee complaint or employer wrongdoing under workplace laws .

Joseph G. (Chip) Galagaza is an attorney in Stibbs & Co.’s employment law section. For over 40 years, Chip has provided clients with sound and practical advice and counsel, and he has represented clients before administrative agencies, in state and federal courts, and in arbitral forums on virtually every kind of issue impacting the employer/employee relationship under labor and employment laws, including statutory discrimination and retaliation claims (e.g., Title VII, TCHRA, ADA, FMLA, EPA, FLSA, ERISA, OSHA, the NLRA, and workers’ comp retaliation) and common law employment claims.

He has authored and presented papers at local and regional continuing legal education seminars and to human resource professional groups on a wide variety of employment law topics, including topics of current interest and “nuts and bolts/how-to” presentations. Before joining the firm, Chip was a Principal in the Houston office of Jackson Lewis P.C.

Joshua A. Redelman is a trusted advisor to businesses both large and small, with significant experience litigating cases involving non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, as well as discrimination and retaliation claims brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Family Medical Leave Act.

Josh also provides advice regarding the Fair Labor Standards Act compliance and assists his clients with rolling out company-wide compensation changes, conducting internal audits and investigations, reviewing, drafting and rolling-out employment agreements and arbitration and class action waivers, and leading settlement negotiations.
