The Value of Hiring Military Talent

Program 1 - MC-SHRM Members Only Special Topic (MOST)    2:15*PM-3:35PM (*Registration 2:15PM-10:25PM)

Presented by:  Charles Bischoff, Employment Coordinator, NextOp - Houston Area

One thing that separates a good company from a great company is the talent of their workforce, yet most businesses struggle to capitalize on what is decidedly their most valuable asset.

In a study of over 2,500 hiring managers, results indicated that 1 in 5 new hires were considered to be unsuitable for their company.  Former service members are consistently more productive, more safety conscious, and more likely to stay with a company long term.  Companies can experience immediate bottom-line benefit by employing these high-performing, technically capable, and reliable team players.

Participant Learning Objectives:

  • Ascertain best practices for military recruiting
  • Identify how to locate military talent
  • Discern how to retain your veterans
  • Discover work opportunity tax credit
