Building a Culture on the One Thing that Motivates All People

Program - MC-SHRM General Meeting   7:45*AM-9:00AM (*Registration 7:30AM-7:45AM)

Presented By: Randal Weidenaar, Culture Change Consultant - VP Culture

Have you ever started a conversation with someone that went downhill quickly and you didn’t know why it happened or how to get it back on track? What about dealing with an angry client who cannot seem to be satisfied? Or how about that coworker that keeps saying “It’s fine” when we know it’s NOT!

During this interactive session, we will introduce a human behavior theory which can be used to establish better outcomes from challenging conversations.

Participant Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the neuroscience, emotional science and research associated with human connection and motivation
  • Provide practical tools to increase emotional awareness, leadership skills and effective communication
  • Gain actionable insights for increasing, promoting, and developing cultural health in their own organizations

Randal Weidenaar is a researcher, author and national speaker. His passion was born out of the pain of broken workplaces, and leaders that wounded rather than served. Randal created VP Culture, a leadership system based on attachment science that inspires a powerful, relational culture foundation. His research reveals that our neurobiology engages when our relationships are healthy and connected. This leads to actual health, vitality and productivity on all levels. Rather than just tips and tricks, VP Culture focuses on a profound relational way of leading and living.

Randal has studied culture, business processes, and neuroscience at MIT Sloan School of
Management, University of Amsterdam, University of Pennsylvania and Harvard-X. He has helped corporations, government, and non-profit organizations unpack the art and science of leadership and culture creation. He wrote The VP Culture Workbook to help leaders develop this team culture.
