Program 1 - MC-SHRM Members Only Special Topic (MOST)    10:15*AM-11:20AM (*Registration 10:00AM-10:15AM)

With a new presidential administration and new Supreme Court justices, this year’s United States Supreme Court session had many eyes on it. The Texas Legislature has had a busy legislative session passing hundreds of new laws. As the COVID-19 pandemic rages on with the Delta variant and debates about vaccinations, many of us are wondering how the rapidly changing state and federal executive orders, policies, and rulings affect our day-to-day lives.
This session, led by Julia Gannaway, will help you get up-to-date on the Supreme Court, relevant new Texas laws, and all things COVID-19!

Participant Learning Objectives:

    • Explore a comprehensive understanding of interactions between general employment law and specific Human Resources application
    • Examine topics of current importance in an open discussion related to employment resources
    • Discuss the new federal and state COVID-19 guidelines and their workplace implications
