This session will provide information to help HR/Benefit Administrators understand what they should be doing to ensure they have a Top Performing Benefit Program.

We will discuss strategic initiatives that plan administrators can implement to ensure their organization is positioned properly to mitigate compliance risks, control costs, engage employees, and reduce administrative burden. 

Participant Learning Objectives:

  • Identify compliance items that may result in government penalties or fines
  • Examine common errors plan administrators may make that can cost their company money
  • Discuss services and vendors available to best manage benefit programs

Ryan Johnson specializes in working with mid-market employers to provide their employees with the best benefits at the right cost. He is a problem-solver and provides innovative solutions that deliver his clients with the best outcomes. Ryan listens to his clients and their goals to create a tailored program that ensures they receive the best return on their investment from their benefit program.

He is involved in all aspects of negotiations, plan architecture, contribution strategy, carrier selection, employee communication, and ongoing support. His clients appreciate his high attention to detail, responsiveness to issues or questions, and his ability to provide reliable data to make informed decisions. Ryan’s creative and progressive ideas have helped many employers save millions of dollars while maintaining a rich benefit offering.

Ryan joined the Alera Group team in 2011. Prior to working with Alera, Ryan was a top Consultant for one of the top 10 largest national insurance brokers in the country, Brown & Brown, Inc. Prior to Brown & Brown, Inc., he worked for HIG Capital, a private equity firm, where he was responsible for sourcing and assessing new investment opportunities in rapidly growing companies. He also worked for The Southwestern Company where he was a top salesperson and sales manager.

Ryan is a native Houstonian and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business where he majored in Finance and Marketing. He continues to stay active with his alma mater by serving on the Board of the Texas Exes Houston Chapter.
