Kiss, Bow or Shake Hands? Understanding the Socialcultural Forces in HR

Program 2 - MC-SHRM General Meeting   11:45*AM-1:00PM (*Registration 11:30AM-11:45AM)

Presented by: Debi Dault, CRP, GPHR, SHRM-SCP - Dault Global Solutions

In today’s diverse workforce, culture plays a very important role in successful business relations. This session will help the HR professional understand how to recognize major cultural differences in their company and more importantly how to be a better communicator? Anthropologists use the term “socialcultural” to combine both people and culture. It is impossible to speak about one without relating to the other. HR needs to be well equipped to deal with both. We will use case studies to learn how to be an effective culture ambassador in your organization.

Participants Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the significance of culture for business by learning the 5 cultural dimensions
  • Discover how culture impacts communication in your organization whether you have operations in other countries or not!
  • Identify specific tools to help your organization be a cultural friendly workplace
